12January..

The blue clouds touching the mountains afar

Are waving and dancing silently

When you go aound wearing those bright flowers

On your thick black hair,

The woods and streams are singing cheerfully.

I will make a throne in my yard with beads

To welcome you

And it will be spring time again in our minds

There is this beautiful boat swimming in the valley

Will you also come with me to the other shore?

January 10, Kesavadasapuram
Saturday is singing day

Hi folks,

We were in hometown the last few days with mom and after coming back, I got busy with a cultural programme held in our hospital.

I do not have a membership in this association till now due to monetary reasons though I am indirectly a member.I got this call from my friend Seena asking me to sing. The program is today evening. Orchestra people were there. At noon, we practiced the songs.

By the way, today I had duty in women and children’s hospital. I was happy because all the kids today were happy kids playing on the scan table talking to me and smiling except for very frightened baby girl. She shook the daylights with her loud wails. There was an emergency ectopic gestation with a live baby in the left adnexa. The house surgeon who brought the case was thrilled to see the case. Jittu had some important meetings, document preparation and so on. In fact, at 6 P.M. also he had a meeting.

Aditya and I reached there at around 6.45.P.M. I wore a blue silk sari with purple border. The program was to start at 7. The auditorium building was decorated with color bulbs and color papers .Adi was very stylish wearing a gray suit. He I am sure got lot of admiring looks from his peers and grown ups as well. Now I remember once going to a movie with Adi. There were a string of girls after him literally running after him..

Medical students were there organizing every thing. Some party games had already started. Many doc kids were there and it was fun and merry.

I was particularly interested in throwing rings game. It is like we have to pay 10 Rs. We will get three rings. Some objects like chocolates, soap, lays, fruity etc were arranged on a table about 1 meter away. We have to throw the rings. If it falls around a chocolate or cool drink u will get it as a prize. We bought six rings. Adi got a chocolate. He was very happy.

The entire program was standard ones. There were Christmas carols with tree , santa clause, presents, medico rock band dances, songs, skit, Desha Bhakti gaanam, mimicry etc and winded up with national anthem at around 11.30.
However, we returned early after I finished my numbers.

I sang Kolakkuzhal vili, Kandu kandu and ezhilam paala and carols with orchestra

It is good to stand on the stage under the lime light every one gazing at us, cameras flashing. Hmmm I did a very stupid thing just before the function. I took salt-water gargle, thinking that it will make my throat clear. Though my throat became clear lot of irritation was there in my throat, I lost control over my voice, and I was scared. Jittu assured me that it is temporary. He gave me all confidence to go ahead.

After my songs I got claps accompanied by sweet appreciating smiles and the usual enquiries like did u learn music? Did u get prizes? Etc. Adi was excited when I was on stage and waved at me.

Altogether, it was a memorable day.

Aditya’s observation:

After oil managers’ strike called off -

“Oh! Only the petrol strike should have been over: not diesel.”
“Why?”
“If diesel is not there we won’t have class tomorrow; coz school buses won’t go”

Sunday is fun day

Hi all,

Today we did lot of work and enjoyed the day.

Cooking was real fun. Adi sat with me patiently while I cooked and helped me now and then by bringing me kitchen tools like a knife or a scissors now and then whenever I needed one. Sometimes he gave warning beeps when milk boiled and was about to overflow. He gave me lot of reassurance when I started cooking in my new microwave oven. I don’t know how kids know all these electric and electronic gadgets inside out even without reading the user’s manual. I made his favorite French fries.

Jittu made chapattis for lunch and settled down with a book. He can read for any number of hours without a break.

Adi took lunch at about two. After lunch, he was kind enough to wash his plates

Then it was cleaning the premises. We like this time a lot because we will be talking all the time when we work together. Moreover, I like to see him doing things for himself and for our home too. Whatever trash I swept, he set fire to it very religiously. And showed me wonderful things like a hole in the ground and wondered that a tortoise must have dug it.

While feeding our pet guest- a tortoise- he told me how a tortoise differed from a turtle. We took videos of Della in action swimming in her tub. Della is the name we gave this tortoise and we called her fondly ‘Dellaama…’ Aama means tortoise in Malayalam. We found Della one night in our backyard while a mongoose was trying to harm her. Subhadra Amma our maid took the tortoise inside and gave her accomodation in a red tub filled with water. Della was shy at first reluctant to come out of her shell. After sometime she slowly put her head out and looked at us curiously. I think it is the first time she is seeing strange bipeds near her so close. Adi sat beside and tried to start a conversation after he introduced himself. Subhadra quickly gave her some rice. Della instantly captured our minds with her gentle ways. Now she is not scared of us. Even when we are around she comes up to take some air and she lost all her shyness also popping her head out gaily and rehearsing her swimming lessons least bothered that we are watching . We put some floating plants inside incase she wants to hide without withdrawing her head.

Aditya’s observation:

When washing his clothes with lot of waterfilledbuckets and a flowing tap around him-

“Amma our house is now a water theme park”

News from kerala :

Today i got 24 hrs duty.

Is this an auspicious time to start blogging? My father always selectedan auspicious day and time after consulting an astrologer to start something new . He believed that heavenly powers can influence us. But astrologers are not available that easy nowadays and they charge a fortune to tell us about the unknown which is not known to us or to them.

When did the day start? Was it at 2.30 a.m. when jittu called me to say good night when he went to sleep or at 6 in the morning when i got up and got dressed to go to the hospital?

At 8 am I was in the hospital in the conference hall. An enthusiastic post graduate student had already started his morning talk show or rather a power point presentation on ' contrast media used in MRI scanning'. He talked very fast and in low voice leaving us to entertain our selves with guessing games.

I slowly walked down the stairs to the room carrying the board ' Lecturer's room' and took my seat . today i had no classes to take. I had to fill the CR : that is the official confidential report , which carries assessment about different aspects about each employee starting from punctuality... this included a self assessment sheet which we use to fill up with grandeus delusions.

While filling up the CR, Seena and Uma where very emotionally talking about a sensational murder case that shocked the heart and soul of God's own country. An innocent girl was murdered- just because she happened to witness someone enjoying 'the much un/desirable forbidden fruits' secretly.I also took part in the discussion , the only way that most of us can respond to almost anything around us. Verbal response, audible within about one metre distance.

Jittu will come online after some time. He is very busy these days with projects and discussions. Sometimes we get just 2 mins to exchange our love, but that keeps our heart ticking till the next call. I tell him let's stop working and just talk to each other. It will keep our heart and mind full. what else do we need? He smiles the most gentle smile u can imagine.

see you
